About Marilene Sawaf
Marilene Yoakim Sawaf graduated in Interior Design and Architecture from the University of Saint Esprit In Lebanon in 1980.
She is a member of the Copley Society of Boston, the New Hampshire Art Association, the Sharon art center and many other galleries and associations in the New England area.
She was awarded the Ezechiel Straw Award(2006) and the Georgeopoulos award (2008) for her paintings at the Currier Museum of Art.

In her figure paintings she is influenced by the vibrant colors and stained glass effects of Medieval art, the stylized designs of Oriental carpets and the intricate patterns of Indian and Iranian manuscripts and tapestries.
In her landscapes she tries to capture the richness of colors of the New England landscape.
